Fordyce Spots Treatment Options and Recommendations
Fordyce spots treatment ranges from home remedies to invasive laser therapy. While Fordyce spots pose no real health risk and don’t have to be removed, at least there are some options available. Personally, I’m not much for invasive surgery or any other procedure when it involves my penis.
As most guys probably feel the same way that I do, this is why so many are in search of natural Fordyce spots treatment. Unfortunately, home remedies don’t always work. Some have better results than others. Before I delve into the various Fordyce spots treatments, I want to talk a bit about the cause of Fordyce spots.
What Causes Fordyce Spots?
The best theory on the cause of Fordyce spots is the build up of sebum or oils concentrate in the sebaceous gland. This is why if you have ever tried to pop a Fordyce spot you will notice a thick fatty discharge.
Sebaceous glands serve a major purpose as they are attached to the hair follicles. Sebum is released which helps to keep our skin naturally moisturized.
Sebaceous glands are present throughout the body. They are prominent on the face and scalp. That is why some people have exceptionally greasy skin- an abundance of sebum secretion.
Because Fordyce spots are linked to the secretion of sebum, many natural Fordyce spots treatments involve a change in lifestyle and diet.
Natural Fordyce Spots Treatment
The common Fordyce spots treatment recommendations include improved hygiene, vitamin supplements, and as mentioned a change in eating habits. Theoretically, the change in diet can help reduce the excess build up and secretion of sebum.
As far as hygiene is concerned, this generally included showering at least once per day but preferably twice. You should definitely shower after a workout so sweat and oils don’t build up.
For guys who develop Fordyce spots on the penis, you may want to consider wearing loose fitting underwear. A restriction in air flow can increase sweating and cause sweat and oils to build up on the penis.
The penis isn’t the only place Fordyce spots form. Technically, Fordyce spots could develop just about anywhere but are more common on the male and female genitalia, lips and mouth, and even eyelids.
So there’s a few non-invasive natural Fordyce spots treatment options. Other natural methods and home remedies include the following…note, some of these methods may or may not work. I’m not endorsing or condoning any options other than a tried and true method I will talk about towards the bottom of this post.
- Skin moisturizers and lotions
- Particularly those containing Trentinon
- Vitamin E applied to the skin
- Apple cider vinegar
- Oatmeal bath
- Tea tree oil
- Castor oil
Those are just a few of the Fordyce spots treatment remedies I have heard of. Like I said, I can’t confirm any of them work. Honestly, a change in diet is always a good thing and can produce results in time. And that’s the real issue here is time.
If you have Fordyce spots on your lips or on your genital region, time is not something you want to wait around for. You want them gone and you want them gone now.
What About Medical Procedures?
Yes there are medical procedures that can get rid of Fordyce spots. That’s the good news. The bad news is they are expensive, some are risky, and they are not guaranteed to work!
Medical procedures are always expensive. However, as removing Fordyce spots is considered cosmetic surgery it is even more so. Most of the Fordyce spots treatment options provided by physicians aren’t covered by insurance companies so cost is a big factor.
One of the more promising Fordyce spots treatments is laser therapy. It’s minimally invasive and has a low risk of scarring. There is still a risk though! Not to mention, most doctors deem this procedure very risk if performed on the genital region. They don’t recommend it but they will sure take your money!
The next Fordyce spots treatment is a chemical peel. Note the word chemical! Basically, a chemical is applied to the affected area. The chemical stays on the skin in the form of a wrap or peel. Once the chemical has done it’s thing, in about an hour or two, the chemical peel is removed along with several layers of skin! I vote NO on this one.
The final treatment that I am familiar with is cryo surgery. Basically, the Fordyce spots are exposed to extremely cold temperatures. This can be painful as well as cause permanent cell damage. I don’t recommend this one either.
What I Recommend for Fordyce Spots Treatment.
About a year ago I came across some information about a natural way to treat pearly penile papules and Fordyce spots. At the time I didn’t know what either was, though I actually had Fordyce spots and wasn’t aware that’s what they were. I thought they were ingrown hairs!
At any rate, I tried the treatment and it worked! I have sense referred hundreds of guys to the pearly penile papules removal program with major success.
As far as money goes, I know anyone with Fordyce spots would be willing to pay big bucks for a quick and easy fix. However, the program only costs $37 and comes with a 100% money back guarantee. It’s the only proven Fordyce spots treatment method that I know of and recommend. You can find out more by clicking the link below.
